DeLynn Powell: Wife, Mother, And Best Friend, Dies Of Cancer At 58; Husband Honors Her Memory By Continuing Mission

It's been a month since my beloved wife DeLynn passed away, two days after our 25th wedding anniversary. She fought a courageous battle against colorectal and liver cancer for almost three years, taking every type of chemotherapy they could come up with, along with "home remedies" said to fight or even cure cancer.

Thousands of people from nearly every Christian denomination prayed for DeLynn's healing. Muslims prayed for her healing, as did viewers of other faiths; Atheists and Agnostics sent "good vibes" and "healing thoughts."

When she was brought home for the last time, from hospital to in-home hospice, we had an evangelistic Protestant minister come over to lay healing hands on her. He used Holy Water and oil blessed by the glove of Padre Pio that had been sent to us by a Catholic viewer several months ago as our entire family gathered around her bedside praying for her recovery.

I thought we had all of the bases covered, and that it was only a matter of time before I witnessed the miracle we had all been praying for. When DeLynn awoke from the coma she was in during the minister's visit and played a game of Yahtzee with us, I thought that miracle had been realized.

We played a full card of Yahtzee - Me, DeLynn, and all of the kids - and each of us spent time talking with her. Alone. I was full of so much hope, she was so alive!

Then she said, "I'm tired. I think I'm going to lay down for a little bit." She lay down, she closed her eyes, and never woke up again.

At the time, I didn't know that she wouldn't wake up again. Since she was a diabetic, making sure her sugar remained around 300-400 (the level recommended by Hospice to keep her comfortable) was a challenge since she could not eat and IVs were not allowed under their rules.

For the last two days of her life I checked her sugar every hour, giving her insulin, or putting gelled sucrose on a swab and putting it in her mouth, whatever the readings on the glucose monitor indicated. Controlling her pain with oral Morphine and keeping her blood sugar between 300-400 became an obsession. It was the only thing I could control as the cancer continued to sap her strength.

Finally, the entire family came to me and asked me to stop. They knew what I refused to accept: DeLynn was gone, and all that was left was an empty shell kept alive by sheer force of will; hers and mine combined. I was being selfish, prolonging her suffering, and it was time to let her go Home.

Exhausted, I agreed. I stopped monitoring her blood sugar so closely and six hours later her heart stopped beating and she was really, truly, gone.

For the last month I have struggled to come to terms with this new reality: My wife is with Jesus and no amount of begging, pleading, or cursing, is going to change that. The light of my life has been extinguished. The woman that has been the rock-solid center of this family as wife, mother, and best friend, is gone. Just gone.

I just noticed that I've used the same word several times in rapid succession, a no-no for any decent writer; but "gone" is what she is to me. It's how I feel. The word conveys, to me, a sense of purposelessness, that her death had no meaning other than to hurt and take away from those who loved her.

Had she been healed, I would have been on the air 24/7 praising God and proclaiming proof of His existence through my wife's miraculous healing. Now what do I have to proclaim? Thousands of people praying for her, laying on of hands through the Holy Spirit; and a beautiful, gentle, 58-year-young child of God still dies.

Where's the miracle in that? If I ever find it, I will let you know. Maybe all we rated was one last game of Yahtzee.

I want to thank everyone for their prayers, and the condolence cards sent to the P.O. Box. One viewer in particular - Rose - is in our hearts for the beautiful Heart-shaped memorial and book on grief by C.S. Lewis. Knowing that your support continues as I rearrange my life is invaluable.

They are the ones that are keeping you informed and spiritually aware while I'm catching my breath, planning the next phase of my assault on the Antichrist.

Oh yeah, that's right. I'm neither Gen Douglas MacArthur, nor am I the Terminator, but you can bet your sweet bippy that "I'll be back." I'll be the first to admit that losing my mother and my wife within a month of each other - both to colorectal and liver cancer - right after losing my 24-year-old daughter to a heart attack, has been a blow. If I took a stress test I'd probably score in the "Why hasn't your head exploded yet?" category.

I don't know what God has in store for my life, but I have come to the realization that my happiness doesn't mean that much to Him, not in the "short-term" anyway. He is interested in my long-term Salvation, and yours too.

I don't know how God will use me to spread His word in these very last days, but doing His will, glorifying His holy name, is all I have left. As I did after the inexplicably tragic death of my daughter, I am going to turn the direction of The Truth Is Viral over to the real "Editor-in-Chief," Jesus Christ, the Son of the One True Living and Almighty God, and let Him take me wherever He will.

With the help of the Holy Spirit, and supported by your prayers, I will "Improvise, Adapt, and Overcome." With the help of Almighty God, together we will "Save lives and win souls for Jesus Christ."

Cancer Victim's Obamacare Nightmare: Death Panels And Racism A Reality

My wife DeLynn is going to die.

Barring a miracle, something which is being constantly prayed for and is entirely possible considering the boundless healing power of Almighty God, I have had to come to terms with that reality. While I might not be able to do anything to prevent the cancer that has ravaged her body from taking her life, I should at least be able to make her passing more comfortable; but we are being blocked at every turn by coverage limitations under Obamacare and, even more shockingly, social workers who delight – and profit – from denying benefits to eligible clients.

My wife and I are not the only victims of a social services system run by sadistic ideologues. According to a vendor for the Michigan Department of Human Services, the department is filled with cruel, uncaring, and despicable “social workers.” In an exclusive interview with The Truth Is Viral, this whistleblower says that she has personally held conversations with social workers who called their clients, “leeches, losers, and lowlifes.” She relayed the story of one woman in particular who was raising five children alone after her husband left upon learning that she had cancer. The woman’s worker told the whistleblower, “She should have thought about getting sick before she had all of those kids.”

The whistleblower described the sickening practice of rewarding workers who denied benefits to eligible clients – many times based solely on the fact that the client was white – and how those workers were rewarded. Every time an eligible client was denied a benefit for which they would normally be entitled, the worker gets a “brownie point.” According to the whistleblower, these brownie points can be turned in for pay raises and promotions.

One would think that people choose social work in order to help people who are in need. It is possible, and apparently altogether too common, for social workers to become so jaded that they begin to treat their clients with the disdain normally reserved for junkies or skid row bums stinking of Sterno; and even then, aren't they human beings deserving of compassion too? When that disdain takes the form of criminal actions that not only adversely affect the lives of society’s most vulnerable, but define anew terms like “corruption,” “avarice,” and “sociopath,” it is incumbent upon society to put an end to those actions and punish those responsible.

I believe that my family is being punished by our social worker and her superiors. We can never get a phone call returned by our worker and her supervisor refuses to meet with us or even consider our request for a new worker despite repeated complaints. Whenever I go to talk to him he’s “In a meeting” or otherwise unavailable. My wife’s Medicaid has been turned off twice since she was diagnosed with cancer. Dealing with the disease is difficult enough without having to fight to keep her insurance for no good reason whatsoever. We are literally afraid to ask them for anything for fear of having new sanctions imposed instead of the help we require.

But the situation here at Casa Powell has reached the point where my wife needs skilled, in-home care; she needs hospice. She’s pretty much confined to bed, as her bed sores will attest, depending on me to steady her and provide what measures I can to make her comfortable. I’m “on-call,” literally 24 hours a day, unable to even leave the house to shop for groceries unless there is another adult available to stay with her.

So last week we called NEMSCA, the Northeast Michigan Community Service Agency which works with Social Services to arrange such things, only to receive a letter informing us that my wife could not be evaluated because their in-home nursing program was “at capacity.” In other words, they don’t have any money. So much for Obamacare “protecting the most vulnerable in our society.”

Does anyone else find it disturbing that the government can find money to supply weapons to terrorist groups in Syria (ISIS thanks you Mssr. Obama & McCain,) and send illegal aliens to school instead of sending them back to the country from which they came, that Bradley Manning can transmogrify himself into a “woman” (boy, will that ever make him popular in Leavenworth,) and aged transsexuals can use Medicare to pay for their gender reassignment surgeries when they turn 65; but a dying woman can’t get skilled end-of-life care? Possibly because she is white?

The very thought makes me want to vomit.

DeLynn and I want to thank everyone who has been praying for us as we have waged this battle against this most insidious disease. Your kind comments, lengthy written prayers, and moral support have strengthened us more than can be described. We’d ask however, that you not give up yet. We haven’t. Continual prayer may yet have the desired effect and save her life.

I can’t imagine a greater miracle than a cure for her cancer and diabetic neuropathy, and if one is forthcoming I swear now before the entire world that I will be ceaseless in my efforts to proclaim the healing power of Christ to all who would listen. If granting that miracle is not Father’s will, then we will need your prayers to strengthen us for our walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death.

In any case, please pray. At this point, for anything that matters, Jesus Christ is our only hope.

UPDATE: 12/2/14
After DeLynn's diabetic coma and heart attack last month she was finally assigned a nurse to help me care for her three hours a day, three days a week, for a total of nine hours. We are extremely grateful to everyone who made this possible, and most especially for the particular caregiver we were assigned.

DeLynn's nurse is an absolute gift from God. She's a dedicated, caring health professional who stands up for her clients rights, making sure that they get all of the services to which they are entitled; and she works her tail off around here too. What she gets done in nine hours would literally take me, and my aching back, days.

Most importantly, DeLynn loves her. So does Tink. And Tink doesn't like anybody but her mommy.

Even though this particular issue has been resolved for us, for the moment, please understand that there are many others who are still being victimized by Obamacare, who are refused treatment by de facto "death panels," and are - according to my guest in this episode - victims of racism; mostly single mothers, refused services simply because of the color of their white skin.

UPDATE 2: 2/4/15

DeLynn's Medicaid has been turned off again. It's actually been off for over a month now and, despite having turned in all of the requested paperwork - again - as of this writing a decision still has not been made. This also affects our son Adam who can not see a neurologist for recurring headaches after a head injury because his Medicaid was also terminated. Me? Pffft. Who cares?

Christians Beheaded, Churches Burned, Entire Towns Wiped Out As Christian Persecution Escalates Worldwide

Christians have been persecuted since the Roman Emperor Nero fed them to the lions in the Coliseum. Continuing the tradition, Emperor Diocletian wrapped early Christian martyrs in oily rags and set them alight so he could enjoy his roses at night.

Persecution of Christians is back with a vengeance as the radical terrorists of al-Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood - supported by Terrorist-in-Chief Barack Hussein Obama - tear across the Middle East burning churches by the score, and religiously cleansing entire towns and villages.



In Syria, the entire Christian village of Maaloula has been cleansed of "infidels" with the brutality one might expect of religious fanatics whose "holy" book tells them to kill Christians and Jews wherever they might be found.

According to news stories and independent video coming out of Syria, Catholic priests have been beheaded {WARNING; NSFW}, nuns have been raped, and little girls have been tortured and have had their limbs cut off; other children have been forced to watch as their parents are beheaded because they refused to renounce their Faith in Jesus Christ, choosing instead to be martyred.

While the guillotines have not yet been brought out in the United States, Christians and Christianity are under unmistakable attack in the United States as well. Here is a brief (and I do mean BRIEF) list of such recent attacks:

But you want to know what is really sweet? At the link just above this line, you will find my source for the opening segment in this show, the story of an increasingly rare victory for Christians. It seems that after Janet Napolitano labeled Christians (among just about everyone else in the country) as possible domestic terrorists, the Army followed suit with a series of briefings given to commanders and NCOs throughout the Army by decidedly anti-Christian "Academics."

Fortunately for the Church, Secretary of the Army John McHugh "has ordered all training and instructions that label evangelicals as 'extremists' or possible domestic terror threats be ended. In a memo distributed to troops on Oct. 18, 2013, McHugh addressed media reports that have highlighted US Army training material that is 'inaccurate, objectionable and otherwise inconsistent' with current Army policy."

Score one for the good guys.

But as previously stated, attacks on Christianity are on the increase, even here in the United States. We are entering the time of Tribulation warned about in the Bible, where before Christ returns for His Bride Christians may very well pay the price for their Faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with their lives. There are reports of 30,000 guillotines already in storage at military bases around the country, ready to be used at a moment's notice.

And I saw thrones, and they that sat on them. And judgment was given to them, and to the souls of the ones having been beheaded because of the witness of Jesus, and because of the Word of God, and who had not worshipped the beast nor its image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand. ~ Rev. 20:4

Are you ready to give your life for our King? When the Devil's minions are threatening the life of your child. demanding that you accept the Mark of the Beast, will you stand firm? Will you say, "Praise Jesus, Lord I'm comin' home!" as the blade falls; or will you allow the threats of men and the fear of mortal death to intimidate you into accepting the Mark?

I wish I could count on the Rapture to spare the Church, my family and myself included, from the coming Tribulation; but the Bible says that we will suffer for Christ. We are not, however, "appointed to wrath," so at least - according to the Pre-Wrath Rapture scenario towards which I'm leaning- we will be spared the Hell on Earth that awaits the damned.

Let's just pray that our Father in Heaven will protect us from the schemes of the Devil, who is in the Earth right now seeking whom he may devour. I, for one, intend to give the bastard heartburn if he tries to take a bite out of me or mine. In any case, I know that he can do nothing to me or my family that Father won't allow; His will, not mine, be done.

If that means I have to lose my head, or suffer watching a member of my family being tortured or killed, then so be it. Our mortal lives, a blink of the eye compared to Eternity, are nothing. Pain is momentary, fear can be overcome; remaining steadfast as we proclaim Christ King, no matter what the cost, is paramount.

Civil War And The Litmus Test: Will US Troops Fire On American Citizens?

In this interview with celebrated columnist and author Jim Garrow, he tells PressForTruth.ca that American military officers are being given a "litmus test", asked if they will give the order to fire on American citizens who refuse to give up their guns. Those who say they will not are being canned or forced to retire, the latest being Marine Corp General John Allen. Those traitors who have sworn allegiance to Obama and turned their backs on their oath to the Constitution and the American people are left to take their places.




Should foreign troops appear on the streets of the United States, I think it's fair to say they are going to find out what Admiral Yamamoto meant when he said that invading the United States would be a folly because there would be a rifle behind every blade of grass. Unfortunately, that goes for Canadian troops too. Sorry guys, but if you have a blue helmet you're fair game.

The time is going to come all too quickly when men under arms are going to have to decide where their loyalties lay. I would suggest that those men and women in the United States military bone up on the UCMJ's definition of Treason, and the 5th Amendment's remedy for it.
